01/03/2006 - Malawi - The Chewa

Whilst in Malawi I lived in the village of Mgwhindi, in the central region of Nkhotakota. On arriving we had a meeting with the chief, Simon Banda, and he let myself and writer, and friend, Alan Martin sleep on the floor of his hut. This was an amazing experience and, despite the obvious hardships, I was overwhelmed by the joy, happiness and beauty of the people of the village. The Chewa people.
