I’m very excited to announce that I’m teaching a three day workshop on the wet collodion process at the National Gallery in Edinburgh at the end of January 2016.
The course will include a very unique and rare opportunity to view examples of historical images held in the collection, and will then provide a very practical introduction to the process the equipment and materials needed. My aim is to provide students with enough information, confidence and useful contacts to enable them to embark upon there own wet collodion adventures. Simples!! 🙂
We will be making plates on a variety of cameras in an indoor studio environment so still life props would be worth thinking about, and it will also be possible to arrange for a friend or family member to drop in at an arranged time to sit for you.
There are only 6 places – and only 2 left at the time of writing this – so if interested please check it out here.

- A WET PLATE PORTRAIT OF SCOTLAND : Since falling head over heels in love with the Wet Plate Collodion process I wanted to produce a series of portraits and landscapes of my homeland. It's been a slightly crazy love affair which has seen me exchange my wee car for a great big ex Glasgow City Council works van. I've fitted out the van with bunkbeds and a darkroom and am now travelling the country, as and when I can, to make these images onto large sheets of black aluminium.
